Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to these values.rr ResponsibilitiesrThe OMRF Rheumatology Research Center of Excellence {target="_blank" rel="noopener"} is looking for a temporary Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant that will be responsible for the following tasks:Responsible for collecting blood, urine, and other samplesObtains and understands specimen and test informationDocuments physician orders as requiredRetrieves orders, requisitions, and labels from EMR for accurate collection and labeling of specimensProcesses samples by centrifugation, pipetting, aliquoting, and slide preparation as required by receiving clinical and research laboratoriesPrepares specimens for transport to labPerforms POC testing for CLIA-waived testsMaintains accurate records, documents and files as required for both clinical and research databasesProvides patient results to physician offices, as necessaryRestocks rooms and supply areas as neededAssists with clerical duties such as answering phones, preparing charts, charge entry, assessing and verifying patient test requests and billing informationAssists nursing staff in obtaining vital signs, weight checks and general patient-comfort needsTransports patients and assists staff with moving patients with wheelchairsPerforms other duties as assignedrr QualificationsrrrrHigh School Diploma or GED or completed a Phlebotomy Program Experience: Previous experience as a phlebotomist.Must demonstrate high attention to detail, dependability and willingness to learn.
