Senior Cost Accountant

Our client is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to oversee cost accounting functions of inventory, cost of goods sold, and detailed financial analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting and reconciliation of inventory, including raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. Ensure inventory values are accurate and properly reflected in the general ledger.
• Analyze and report on manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability. Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly cost reports, including COGS, and provide insights into trends, cost drivers, and potential efficiencies.
• Oversee the calculation and reporting of COGS for apparel products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Maintain and audit the Bill of Materials for each product, ensuring that all production inputs are properly accounted for and reflect actual costs.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes related to cost accounting, including preparing and posting journal entries, performing reconciliations, and generating necessary financial statements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience
• Experience managing Bill of Materials (BOM) and conducting variance analysis.
