Job Overview
We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced individual for the position of Director, Market Access Insights to support U.S. Market Access strategic and tactical objectives by applying decision sciences frameworks, utilizing market research and analytics techniques. This individual will be an integral “hands on” thought partner to the Commercial organization and the primary go to for Market Access teams across the product portfolio. They will actively influence commercial strategy, post-launch optimization, and future launch planning efforts by generating insights, uncovering opportunities, and integrating cross-functionally to deliver a holistic story. This includes partnering with analytics and market research COEs. This person must have deep knowledge in Market Access / Organized Provider space, be a strategic storyteller and a strong collaborator with proven track record of navigating complex organizational structures / experience in highly matrixed environments.
The Director will be a member of the Commercial Insights team. This position will report to the VP, Commercial Insights & Analytics. The location for this position is remote.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Plays a critical role in enhancing marketing, sales, and market access offerings by developing insights from information, and translating insights to shape commercial strategy and decisions
Develop insights playbooks and design solutions in support of Market Access (MA) teams such as Contracts & Pricing, MA Marketing, MA Strategy and MA Account Management.
Partner closely with Brand Insights Leads, co-promote colleagues and COE to deliver QBRs, Situation Analysis and support Brand Planning process.
Assist with MA KPI development and goal setting methodologies; responsible for MA KPI tracking and diagnostics.
Consult on Dashboard / Reporting related projects to ensure appropriate MA metrics and business rules are used to objectively communicate performance and the overall Market Access landscape.
Proactively analyze MA syndicated data and leverage in-house COE analytics to excavate insights and provide strategic and tactical guidance to MA teams; identify new opportunities and threats.
Oversee the design and execution of MA Primary Market Research; consult on MA Syndicated Market Research purchases.
Manage the budget and vendor partners in support of MA projects (internal and alliance / co-promote)
Stay abreast of emerging healthcare and pharmaceutical industry trends and related legislative proposals to assess their potential impact on our MA strategies.
Demonstrate MA thought leadership and represent the Company at key functions and conferences when appropriate
Key Core Competencies

Command of Power Point and Excel
Experience with MMIT Analytics Platform
Experience with Tableau/Qlik or other visualization tools
SQL programming a plus

Strong analytical skills, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and creativity in problem solving
Ability to prioritize cross functional projects and maintain high degree of accuracy amid competing deadlines
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear story and recommendations
Strong vendor management skills and ability to effectively manage to budget
Education and Experience
BS/BA with concentration in Life Sciences, Economics, or Business; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
Minimum 10 – 15 years (w/o Masters) or 8 – 12 years (with Master’s) of relevant experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, with 5+ years' experience in consulting-type activities with strong commercial experience in Marketing, Sales or Market Access
Required 5+ years of hands on, in-depth understanding of secondary data sources (e.g., syndicated sales, longitudinal patient-level claims data, payer data, EMR data, Patient Hub data, SP data), including caveats of each source. SME in Payer Formulary and Policy data sources / platforms and Payer Backbone solutions.
Consulting experience preferred
Biotech or pharmaceutical US marketplace launch experience preferred
Global and/or international experience preferred
The base salary range for this role is $192,364 to $240,454. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, short incentive plan participation, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes unlimited paid time off, 11 paid holidays plus additional time off for a shut-down period during the last week of December, 80 hours of paid sick time upon hire and each year thereafter. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
