Job Summary

The Quality Lead performs inspections of purchased parts and components, in-process parts, and finished products. Performs audits to ensure standards of quality are maintained and accurately documents the results of inspections and testing.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct inspections on incoming materials, in-process items, and finished products while properly using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, height gauges, and standard plug/thread gages.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to confirm parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Accurately complete required records and paperwork and ensure all quality documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Assist in writing and updating inspection procedures, protocols and checklists.
  • Train new and existing employees to ensure they understand required quality standards and measures and use of inspections tools.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and improve process.
  • Provides back-up to quality manager as needed.

Required

  • Associate’s degree or two years of related experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Ability to adhere to company policies, procedures, and work instructions
  • Familiarity with and ability to use measuring devices such as gauges, meters, and calipers

Preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with ISO: 9001:2015
  • Experience providing work direction or acting in a lead or supervisory role
  • Ability to plan and develop standards, procedures, and best practices for ensuring product quality.
  • Experience successfully training new and existing employees.
  • ASQ Certification, APICS Certification.
