Description
Must have a good understanding of women’s health issues and be able to provide support and comfort to patients.
They must also be able to maintain patient confidentiality and professionally handle sensitive information.
Maintaining patient records, scheduling appointments, and answering patient inquiries. They may also assist in managing patient flow, ensuring that patients are seen promptly and efficiently.
Taking medical histories
Medical assistants gather information about a patient’s health, including past illnesses, medications, and family history.
Recording vital signs
Medical assistants record a patient’s blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and other vital signs.
Preparing patients for exams
Medical assistants prepare patients for physical exams and procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions.
Assisting with procedures
Medical assistants may assist physicians with procedures, such as pelvic exams and Pap Smears.
