VICE PRESIDENT AND GENERAL MANAGER GRID STRUCTURES
In this role, the Vice President & General Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversight to the management team of a fast-growing business unit within a large manufacturing company. The General Manager is expected to have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of all matters related to driving business growth, industry knowledge, and ensuring the delivery of quality products to customers. This leader will establish strategy and direction, manage operational scorecards and is accountable for balancing an organizational P&L budget.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a compelling vision for growing the business and leading the organization in the implementation/execution of that vision
Successfully communicate strategy and results to senior executives as well as the people within the business unit
Drive the business strategy working in concert with a senior management team to develop and implement initiatives to maximize the performance of the organization
Continually innovate by looking for new product and service offerings striving to improve profitability, increase margins, and achieve sustainable competitive advantage while balancing risk
Provide leadership to key functional leaders within the business unit
Engage in key customer relationships and/ or target customer relationships Evaluate and determine key investments in equipment, infrastructure and talent
Foster and encourage innovation; guide development of technical strategies and roadmap Engage with Corporate Executives in broad organizational strategy planning through M&A and/or organic growth
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related field; Master's degree preferred
Minimum of 15 years applicable work experience, including managing a P&L and leading a high-growth team
Proven experience within heavy industrial engineering and manufacturing
Experience in strategic planning and execution of growth plans
Considerable business knowledge including business processes, management, budgeting, finance and operations
Proven experience in planning, organization, and development Excellent understanding of project management principles
In depth knowledge of applicable regulations as they relate to the industry Proven leadership ability and strong communicator
Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
Ability to travel, as needed
