Suffolk University invites qualified candidates to apply for our Head Women’s Soccer Coach opening. This position is responsible for overseeing all duties associated with a competitive Division III Women’s Soccer program and is responsible for providing the vision and leadership in the development of the program. Help sustain an atmosphere that promotes academic and personal growth of student-athletes. Compliance with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy when performing job responsibilities. Oversee practice planning, player development, fundraising and travel needs.

PRIMARY/PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provide vision and leadership in the development of a competitive Division III Women’s Soccer program. Create and sustain an atmosphere that promotes academic and personal growth of student-athletes. Compliance with NCAA rules and Division III philosophy when performing job responsibilities.
  2. Development of a successful comprehensive recruiting plan with focus on recruitment and retention of qualified student athletes. Meet goals for student visits, applications, deposits and program enrollment.
  3. Oversee all administrative aspects of the program including team travel, scheduling of tournaments and practices, budget management and travel arrangements.
  4. Identify, recruit and supervise assistant coaches.
  5. Engage in community outreach and alumni engagement initiatives. Participate in fundraising initiatives for the Athletic Department and the Women’s Soccer program.
  6. Facility Management – Oversee staffing & all operational tasks associated with the daily functioning of a busy athletic center.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS (EXAMPLES):

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree Preferred.
  • 3-5 years of successful soccer coaching experience at the college level. Head Coaching experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment of student-athletes.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and GNAC rules and regulations.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
  • This position requires afternoon, night, weekend hours combined with business hours and some moderate travel.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED.
