This is a hybrid role that requires in-office attendance in downtown Portland 1-2 days per week. This position is contingent and expected to last for approximately 9 months.
Job Summary
This position provides advanced assessment, analysis, and process planning functions for the Finance organization under minimal supervision. Primary duties include complex process design and improvement, capacity tracking and assessment, and implementation of new technology. This position supports partnership and value deliverance across CareOregon, focusing on Finance as a service.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements across Finance teams.
- Tracks current finance capabilities and skill gaps.
- Contributes to process designs that enhance productivity and accuracy and reduce redundancy.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and incorporates industry best practices.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to define and prioritize transformation projects and initiatives.
- Monitors and reports on the progress of transformation projects and initiatives.
- Conducts complex reviews and assessments to inform transformation portfolio decisions.
- Maps capability development opportunities and highlights areas of interest (people, process, and technology).
- Participates in evaluation of new technologies and tools to support finance transformation.
- Leads the implementation of financial technology, software, and automation solutions.
- Creates training materials and trains finance teams on new technologies to ensure successful adoption.
- Provides support to adjacent teams throughout transformation efforts.

Experience and/or Education:
Required:
- 4 years of experience in at least a mid-level financial planning and analysis or accounting position.
- 2 years of experience using process improvement principles within a role.
Preferred:
- Experience with ERP implementation.
- Experience working with Workday Core Financials.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Advanced understanding of finance and accounting, including internal controls.
- Strong understanding of process improvement principles.
- Excellent spreadsheet and word processing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to research and expand knowledge of applicable laws, statutes, rules, codes, and ordinances.
- Skill in organization and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, shifting priorities, and meet changing deadlines.
- Ability to apply logic to solve complicated problems.
- Ability to quickly learn the organization’s current software and systems.
- Ability to visualize and articulate future state options.
- Ability to research and support State Medicaid funding requirements and questions.
- Ability to problem-solve, analyze accounts, and provide written documentation of analysis and make independent decisions of significant impact or consequence.
- Ability to communicate project status and issues to manager in a timely manner.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
- Ability to learn, focus, understand, and evaluate information and determine appropriate actions.
- Ability to accept direction and feedback, as well as tolerate and manage stress.
- Ability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movement for at least 6 hours/day.
- Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3-6 hours/day.
