This position is responsible for the On-Premise sales department. The primary objective of this leadership position is to maximize all resources to expand sales, distribution, and share for all JB-MD’s suppliers in the On-Premise sales division. This position will be based in Raleigh and will oversee three Area Managers, thirteen district managers, a Regional KAM, and a team of sixty-one territory managers.

Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Lead, coach, and empower direct and indirect teams to perform and achieve results in line with department strategy and goals.
  2. Set and manage monthly objectives against programming and activation.
  3. Achieve organization’s sales plan.
  4. Evaluate progress and work with Sales Reps to determine growth potential.
  5. Manage sales performance by measuring and reporting results; evaluate and correct performance as needed. Administer policies and procedures.
  6. Product key account calls by helping to prepare and present programs.
  7. Assist in the development of sales forecasts and scheduling of product.
  8. Plan for activities by forecasting conditions, market analysis, market trends, defining objectives and strategies.
  9. Collaborate with our strategic supplier partners to achieve their goals in the market.
  10. Manage budget, forecasting, and sales trends of accounts.
  11. Follow-up and comply with requests from upper management.
  12. Report weekly/monthly/quarterly to management team to ensure sales targets are met.
  13. Evaluate staff and build succession plans.
  14. Utilize all tools available to track performance and results of monthly goals.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred (or analogous industry experience/skills).

Experience/Skills:

  1. Minimum of 5-7 years industry experience.
  2. On-Premise experience strongly preferred.
  3. Previous beverage sales management experience.
  4. Strong working product knowledge of wine and beer.
  5. Proven track record of creating and presenting successful wine and beer platforms/concepts that drive incremental business across the enterprise.
  6. Excellent leadership and people development skills.
  7. Demonstrated experience coaching and leading teams required.
  8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills to provide insights into performance and efficiency opportunities.
  9. Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaboration across different departments, sometimes virtually.
  10. Excellent planning/organizational skills necessary to achieve business goals.
  11. Strong ability to multi-task efficiently within given time parameters.
  12. Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
  13. Ability to manage competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  14. Ability to interact with all functional areas and organizational levels, often in stressful situations.
  15. Exceptional problem-solving skills.

Computer Skills:

  1. Strong Word and Excel experience required; Workday software experience desired.

  1. Ability to work well with others.
  2. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is a supervisory position.
