Job Description
Join the Office of New Student Experience and ASU Family! Working as one unit, our teams support the
onboarding and welcome experience for new undergraduate students and their families. Additionally, we
provide continuous engagement and resources for continuing families. In this position you will perform
complex administrative duties that require working both independently and collaboratively at times. Our
team works closely with other university offices and requires the ability to build strong relationships. This
position may assist with answering phones, greeting visitors, and will be a liaison to appropriate offices for
resolution. A passion for the ASU experience is a must. Reports directly to the Directors of New Student
Experience and ASU Family.

Working Environment
  • This position is located on the Tempe Campus within the Office of New Student Experience and ASU Family.
  • This is an in-person position.
  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Ability to clearly communicate the essential functions of the position.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends based on events.
  • May need to bend, reach, lift, push and pull up to 25 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business or in a field pertinent to work unit and one (1) year of directly related administrative experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.

New Student Experience and ASU Family assist new students and their families' transition to the university through a variety of programs and events, including the New Student Orientation Experience and Fall Welcome. Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students. EOSS has direct responsibility for multiple departments across four campuses, some of which include the Dean of Students, University Housing, Health Services, Counseling Services, Disability Resources, the Memorial Union, TRIO programs, Sun Devil Fitness, Student Government, Student Media, Career Services, Access ASU and others.

  • Evidence of technology skills in systems such as Google Suite, Salesforce, Slack, PeopleSoft, Outlook, etc.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Skill in a wide variety of administrative functions including calendaring, scheduling, and word processing.
  • Skill in dealing with a wide range of topics, including confidential and sensitive information.
  • Skill in tact and diplomacy and in maintaining effective working relationships.

Essential Duties
  • Represents The Office of New Student Experience and ASU Family to prospective students and prospective/current families.
  • Serves as a valued liaison to university contacts and maintains relationships to support the needs of prospective students and prospective/current families.
  • Operates as the lead customer service responder for inbound inquiries from incoming immersion students and ASU families including salesforce case management, answering phones, greeting visitors, and providing support for student worker teams.
  • Supports Academic Orientation Sessions, Family Orientations, ASU Welcome events, family events and other initiatives as needed.
  • Assists with maintaining internal documents, rosters, distribution lists, event registration, and may assist with event catering needs.
  • Supports the operations of the ASU Family Hub platform, assisting with user imports, data management, reports and occasional content management.
  • Helps manage the office inventory and orders supplies and materials as needed.
  • Completes financial paperwork as assigned.
  • Assists with the onboarding of new professional and student staff including ordering necessary materials, coordinating technology, etc.
  • Provide overall administrative support to the office including scheduling assistance, generating reports and coordinating program logistics as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects and events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
