This role is responsible for the development of quotations on waterworks projects while establishing close relationships with the branches, vendor representatives, and ensuring outstanding customer service. If you have a background in construction estimating, are goal-oriented, have strong communication and follow-up skills, and enjoy building relationships and a team atmosphere, this is an excellent opportunity to grow with an industry-leading organization!The ideal candidate can be based out of our Idaho Falls, Meridian or Twin Falls Branch locations.ResponsibilitiesGather required data for quote preparation, data entry of new quotes, and contact vendors for job quotesWork directly with partners and clients to determine project scope, specifications, requirements, and perform calculationsKeep current of new products, trends, market cost, and pricingFollow up on customer quotes and contacts vendors for material pricingCoordinate with vendors to ensure that pricing data is received in a timely mannerParticipate in the resolution of any and all pricing related issuesAnalyze specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layoutsAssess cost-effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project developsSends completed quotes to sales representative and/or customer, builder, or designer one day in advance of the identified due dateConfer with owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimatesCompletes Project Work - Using and Maintaining Smartsheet and/or BidTracer to update Summary and Tracker and manage ordersDevelop knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers by working closely with more experienced brand/product managersRecommend products and services that fit well with clients' business needsAssist Project Managers with execution of project in accordance with organization's project management methodology according to established project planIdentify, develop, and gather the resources to complete the projectEstablish, maintain, and develop effective sales relationships with major accounts/customersParticipate in corporate-wide initiatives involving pricing functions, philosophies or processesParticipates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to managementQualifications2+ years of construction related project management, project coordinator, quotations, or estimating experience, preferredWaterworks quotations or product knowledge is highly preferredPrior use of PlanSwift, BidTracer, Salesforce, or similar estimating software, highly preferredFamiliarity with customer quotations software, such as Planswift, Blubeam, and On Center are highly preferredConstruction experience with water & sewer and storm drain materials, a huge plusKnowledge of wastewater treatment plants, booster pumps, pump stations, a plusComputer savvy including typing, navigating multiple software programs simultaneously and using MS Office toolsAbility to be flexible, adaptable and multitasking skills needed, including the ability to juggle multiple requests in a timely mannerSelf-starter, creative problem solver, and eagerness to learn and growStrong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with people at multiple levels of the organizationAbility to function effectively in an autonomous settingProven attention to detail coupled with organizational skillsThe budget for this role begins at $56,184 + per yearAt Ferguson, we care for each other.
