Purpose:
As a Project Engineer, you will be part of the Power Networks team providing engineering support for the design of substation facilities for voltages up to and including 765 kV. This includes new substations and switchyards, as well as modifications, additions, and upgrades to existing facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Technical management - Leading substation design projects for our clients in accordance with Worley design standards, procedures, and client requirements.
- HSE Management - Ensure compliance with all HSE procedures and that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants.
- Client Relationships - Identifying, documenting and communicating client requirements. Effectively manages multiple stakeholders and maintains healthy client relationships throughout the project and post-completion.
- Commercial Management - effectively manages Worley/Client contract.
- Time Management - Manages the planning of all scope elements of the project.
- Cost Control - Planning and preparing accurate project estimates. Monitors and controls all cost aspects of the project.
- Quality Management - Defining the project quality requirements and ensuring compliance with Worley policies and procedures.
- Team Management - Providing clear and focused leadership for the project team.
- Communications Management - Ensuring accurate and timely progress reporting to the client and internally to Worley management.
- Risk Management - Identifying project risks and opportunities.
What You Will Bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in substation design.
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards.
- Ability to formulate project scope documents and establish budgets.
- Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
- Leading and supporting multi-discipline teams on substation projects.
- Substantial technical experience in electrical engineering.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites or conferences.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- 4 or 5 year Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
Preferred:
- Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States or willingness to apply for license.
