The Supply Chain function standard organization at the entity level encompasses four key areas of work:
Sourcing: Leads the company to decide where to buy and under which conditions and reflecting those conditions in our own internal communication systems (ie ERP) and contracts with suppliers.
Material planning: Decides on date and quantity on materials and services where it is already known in advance where to buy from and under which conditions and sends out and follows up the corresponding PO to suppliers.
Warehouse: Defines and executes the processes related to the material flow throughout the entire material cycle at the site.
Logistics: Manages inbound and outbound freight with suppliers and customers.
The liaison with other key stakeholders such as Engineering and Sales is also key for the position, as some of these materials are essential and visible parts of our selling value proposition to our customers who in some cases might even dictate or constrain the supplier choice. Providing the right visibility and assuring the correct alignment between the Sales and sourcing strategies is essential for business risk mitigation and success.
