**Job Title:** RN-OR Cobb - General Surgery - Days
**Job Specialty:** RN Registered / Licensed - Inpatient
**Job Duration:** 13 weeks
**Shift:** Day; 4 x 10-hour days, 16-24 hours on call per 4 weeks
**Guaranteed Hours:** Not specified
**Experience:** Minimum 5 years of experience in the OR. Strong proficiency in 2 of these 3 specialties: Neurology, Orthopedics, Vascular. Previous travel experience is a plus but not a must.
**License:** Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN - Multi-state Compact
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support or BLS - Instructor
**Must-Have:**
- Diploma from an accredited nursing program or Bachelor's Degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to optimize the use of technology.
- Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner.
**Job Description:**
- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation) using evidence-based practice.
- Provide relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
- Partner with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds).
- Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care.
- Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Participate and support performance improvement, research, and research utilization.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
- Serve as a preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and staff.
- Promote evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
- Uphold all health care system/organizational policies and procedures.
- Proactively plan for the care of patients across the care continuum.
- Support efficient and effective use of human and material resources.
