About Us:

The Phoenix Recovery House, an initiative of The Change Initiative , is a transformative recovery program for women seeking sobriety and healing. Our one-year holistic program addresses not only addiction recovery but also life management skills, emotional well-being, and career readiness. We work closely with community partners to support women and their children, facilitating family reunification and creating stable, independent futures.

We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate individual to join our team and help oversee the day-to-day operations of this life-changing program.

Position Overview:

The Program Director is responsible for the effective management and coordination of all aspects of the recovery program at The Phoenix Recovery House. You will work closely with residents, staff, and community partners to ensure the program operates smoothly and delivers impactful, meaningful outcomes for women in recovery. The ideal candidate is organized, passionate about supporting women in recovery, and able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a trauma-informed, compassionate approach.

Flexible schedule based on residents and coverage needs (weekends occasionally).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the recovery program, including scheduling, resident activities, and staff support.
  • Work closely with residents to ensure they are progressing through the recovery phases, tracking progress and addressing any challenges.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, recovery coaches, and external counselors to maintain a cohesive, supportive program environment.
  • Organize and facilitate workshops, group meetings, and activities focused on life skills, emotional resilience, and community reintegration.
  • Manage program logistics such as intake processes, resident orientation, and discharge planning.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners and service providers to connect residents with education, job training, employment, and family reunification services.
  • Oversee and manage resident case files, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with program protocols.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the program’s effectiveness, providing feedback to the Executive Director and suggesting improvements as needed.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts, grant writing, and public outreach to support the program’s sustainability.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for residents, providing encouragement, support, and conflict resolution when necessary.
  • Ensure program alignment with the mission of The Change Initiative and maintain a compassionate, recovery-focused environment through 1:1s with the Vice Chair Board Member.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience in program coordination and addiction services.
  • Experience working in recovery services, particularly with women, homelessness, or trauma-informed care.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a compassionate, patient attitude.
  • Knowledge of addiction recovery principles and community resources.
  • Familiarity with case management and program evaluation.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or public outreach is a plus.
