Your opportunity

The Senior Design Manager is a proven project leader who will ensure each project reflects Client’s current strategy and adheres to established design guidelines. The Senior Design Manager will be the point of contact for projects and will be accountable to cross-functional team members for managing the design process to develop and deliver design solutions with excellence.

Responsibilities Include

  1. Manage the process of design and implementation of design for retail branch properties
  2. Provide space planning and design direction (interior and exterior) for new retail locations, renovations and expansions
  3. Present design solutions visually and verbally to upper management
  4. Responsible for engaging, and managing the agreements with, outsourced architects, engineers and related vendors
  5. Review vendor created documents for adherence to Schwab standards and project specific direction
  6. Develop positive cross-functional working relationships
  7. Provide guidance and expertise for selection of furniture, finishes, and artwork
  8. Develop and maintain brand standards and application guidelines
  9. Provide project updates/communicate project status weekly or when called upon to do so
  10. Provide clear and concise direction to meet client and company goals. Integrate and leverage colleagues to implement best design solutions.
  11. Represent the design department, corporate real estate department and the clients with an exceedingly high level of professionalism

What you have

  1. Minimum 5 years' experience working in an architecture or interior design firm with an emphasis in retail, office and corporate architecture.
  2. Proven ability to demonstrate successful projects with significant experience in space planning/interior design/architecture for commercial and multi-unit branded environments
  3. Proven ability to translate complex project programs into efficient, compelling space plans
  4. Experience in the development of branded environments through application of brand standards and instinctive layout of brand messaging, signage, graphics, materials, etc.
  5. Experience with the development and execution of corporate campus projects
  6. Exceptional communication skills - ability to professionally address clients, peers, and internal business partners including senior management and outside resources
  7. Exceptional time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity
  8. Experience with commercial office systems furniture
  9. Comprehension of building codes and accessibility requirements affecting building layout
  10. High level of efficiency utilizing AutoCAD, experience with Revit preferred
  11. Operational understanding of Bluebeam, Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat desired
  12. LEED certification is a plus
