Ambulance Director / Interim Position

Located in the picturesque town of New Concord, OH, this integral role as an Ambulance Director offers a unique opportunity to lead and enhance a high-performance emergency medical service (EMS) system. Situated in a community voted one of Ohio's Best Hometowns, which combines small-town charm with accessibility to several large metro areas, this position holds a pivotal role in sustaining community health and safety. This role offers both challenging and rewarding work in overseeing and enhancing EMS operational efficiency, personnel management, financial operations, and strategic growth. The position not only focuses on maintaining the highest standards of patient care but also on driving operational excellence and growing into a possibly permanent role.

Compensation: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management of all Ambulance operations and associates.
  • Manage all aspects of personnel, including staffing, training, setting performance expectations, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to departmental policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
  • Develop and enforce compliance with all regulatory procedures and safety requirements.
  • Monitor and report on the measurement and effectiveness of all operational processes.
  • Prepare weekly administrative reports detailing various operational aspects like field activities, communications, operations, training, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Oversee the financial aspects including revenue, profitability, cash flow, and organizational budgeting to ensure business objectives are met.
  • Lead strategic planning and implementation of growth strategies and organizational improvements.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure, system, process, and personnel changes.
  • Maintain and cultivate beneficial relationships with other first responder organizations and hospital personnel.
  • Assist in the management of First Responder Agreements.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited paramedic school.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management Services, Business Management, Public or Business Administration, or related fields.
  • At least five years of experience in managing a medium-to-large scale high-performance EMS system.
  • Extensive knowledge of emergency medical service systems and operational protocols.
  • Demonstrable experience in financial planning, analysis, and budget management.
  • Proven skills in organization development, personnel management, resource development, and strategic operational planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in public affairs and maintaining community relations.
  • Advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience in transforming operational procedures and protocols to optimize efficiency and service delivery.
  • Accreditation from relevant EMS or healthcare administration bodies.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and projects.
