SUMMARY
The Relationship Manager (Affordable Housing) is responsible for day-to-day client relationship and sales/business development efforts that will result in meeting and/or exceeding individual performance goals and achieving the Bank's growth objective. The individual in this position is expected to be active in the bank market communities in California and engaged with business associations/industry groups, developers and property owners/managers and non-profit service providers in the affordable housing ecosystem. Act as a primary contact of the bank with the client and coordinate with the bank client team to provide responsiveness and execution across all bank products and services. Be accountable to understand and articulate to clients, prospects and community members in regard to the mission of Beneficial State Bank and at all time represents Beneficial State Bank in an ethical and professional manner. Relationship Managers are to maintain a record of all sales and relationship management activities through the use of established bank client management and internal communication systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which they are free to move about at will. The position may include driving a personal or company owned vehicle approximately <50% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, mobile telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), money counter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers, instant issue machine, cash recycler, branch capture scanners, and video conferencing equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The posted pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role but may include ranges from the different geographies where this position may be based. New employees' starting pay is usually from the start of the range to approximately 25% of the max, more qualified and/or experienced employees may start near the middle of the range for their geography. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range.
Compensation for our organization is based on factors that include the role, required knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies, and candidates' relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Works in a collaborative manner with all Beneficial State Bank personnel and provides exceptional service and solutions to existing and prospective banking clients
- Maintains a clear understanding of the bank's plans and goals related to loan and deposit growth in the affordable housing sector
- Focuses daily activities on sales efforts with clients and prospects to work towards individual loan and deposit goals
- Creates new customer relationships by developing a target list and pursing each prospect in a systematic fashion
- Establishes a track record of meeting production goals and disciplined use of sales tools for tracking opportunities, calling efforts, and client requests
- Develops and strengthens existing affordable housing relationships through scheduled follow-up telephone calls and personal meetings
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive profile of customer's current and future banking needs
- Strengthens the bank's client relationships by cross-selling the Bank's products and services
- Spends a minimum of 50% of time in the field, calling on customers and prospects, developing relationships, and uncovering new banking opportunities
- Aids in the preparation of loan requests for review by Credit Administration and provides required documentation and summary information as necessary
- Works closely with Credit Administration to ensure all loan requests are processed in a timely manner and keeps the loan applicant (client or prospect) informed throughout the loan application process
- Maintains follow up with existing clients to ensure the bank has timely and accurate financial information for the purposes of loan monitoring and/or to update the bank's credit files
- Attends and participates in staff meetings on goal reviews, objectives and results, obstacles, and provide solutions as deemed necessary
- Attends all required community and business-related events
- Shares best practices and successes to improve services, processes, procedures, and products offered
- Maintains regular and punctual attendance
- Maintains a professional approach to both duties and personal behaviors
- Projects a friendly and helpful attitude toward customers and bank personnel
- Organizes work effectively to meet targeted deadlines with sufficient planning to avoid rush or urgent requests
- Understands and abides by all banking regulations and regulatory compliance procedures in all bank activities
- Follows established Bank procedures and processes to ensure the bank's overall compliance
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations and internal company policies, including but not limited to BSA / Anti-Money Laundering, Fair Lending, Privacy, and Anti-Discrimination, to the extent each applies to current job responsibilities
- Completes all online compliance training as assigned within specified due dates

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent prior banking experience
- 5+ years of experience lending to affordable housing organizations and properties or commensurate experience in a financial capacity for an organization in the affordable housing industry.
- Demonstrated relationship management experience and understanding of commercial banking products and services, including commercial real estate, multi-family loans, and deed restricted affordable housing properties.
- Prior experience with financial analysis of new and existing affordable housing properties.
- Proven sales and business development skills
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office related software, Salesforce, and/or other established Client Management System (CSM)
- Organized with proven self-initiative and self-motivation. Projects positive energy with timely responses to opportunities and client requests.
- Proven articulation and consistency in written and verbal communications with colleagues, clients, prospects and community member
