Job Title: Core and Cloud Solutions Architect

Location(s): Jersey City, NJ
(Hybrid: 1 day a week on site)

We are seeking a highly skilled Core Network Architect with expertise in Cisco and Arista Software Defined Network (SDN) Infrastructures. This role requires a deep understanding of data center and cloud interconnectivity, network troubleshooting, and the ability to work on complex network issues. Passionate about infrastructure automation through software together with solid hands-on experience of network automation.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead architect responsible for designing and developing scalable and highly available global core and cloud network architectures to meet the organizations business needs.
2. Core network architecture and vision, ensure specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged.
3. Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to Consolidated Communications' infrastructure needs.
4. Manage complex activities simultaneously to short timescales.
5. Develop scripts and processes to test, deploy and validate changes across all network infrastructure as code, leveraging Ansible and other approved corporate automation and orchestration platforms.
6. Develop state of the art technology appropriate to deliver stable and scalable technical solutions.
7. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop consensus, drive results, and execute projects across the organization on time and within budget.
8. Develop and maintain standards and designs for Core network architecture.
9. Articulate design rationale, flexibly adapt solutions, and iterate designs when required.
10. Work closely with senior management, and network engineering and operations teams.
11. Act as an escalation engineer for high severity network related production issues, work with engineers and various vendors to identify tactical and strategic solutions.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or related field, such as Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience.
2. 10+ years of proven experience designing, deploying, and managing large-scale multi-vendor enterprise networks, project delivery with focus on performance optimization and scalability.
3. CCIE or CCNP Routing and Switching certifications or equivalent are required.
4. Network Automation and infrastructure as code (Ansible, Python, etc.) a plus.
5. Expert level knowledge of IP Networking, Routing protocols (OSPF, ISIS, BGP), SDN (Cisco ACI, Arista Spine, NSX-T etc.), and micro-segmentation.
6. Public Cloud network experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a must.
7. Architect, design, and implement AWS cloud network solutions to support business requirements, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, transit gateways, and direct connect.
8. In-depth knowledge of AWS network services (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, etc.)
9. Experience with network flow export (Netflow, IPFIX, sFlow) and analysis.
10. Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Jenkins, Git).
11. Analyzing, gathering, and auditing large-scale and complex data sets to uncover new trends and patterns that influence architecture direction.
12. Extensive experience with planning, designing, and executing network hardware and software infrastructure.
13. Deep knowledge on network management and monitoring platforms.
14. Recommend network improvements, including cost/benefit analysis, to meet changing business requirements.
15. Plan large-scale projects through vendor comparison and cost studies.
16. Sharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detail.
17. Independent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environment.
18. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
