Overview:
Seeking an Environmental Specialist with experience in managing the environmental operations of a factory, including wastewater treatment, air monitoring/reporting, waste management, stormwater management, and laboratory work.
Must Haves/Mandatory: Wastewater Management & Air Quality Management
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or other technical degree
- 10+ years of industrial experience with supervisory or management responsibilities
- Training or relevant exposure in supervision skills, quality assurance systems, environmental and safety regulations
- Strong leadership abilities, communication skills, and understanding of mechanical equipment and chemical processes
- Proficient skills in company data management systems and Microsoft Office
Responsibilities:
- Supervision of the site environmental technician and environmental specialist(s)
- Assisting with hiring of factory positions related to the environmental program, while coordinating/hiring contractors
- Direct involvement with state regulators
- Project management for large on-site environmental projects
- Food or chemical industry experience preferred
Wastewater and Air Quality Responsibilities:
- Compile data for submission of monthly discharge monitoring reports for wastewater and stormwater
- Ensure Monthly, Semi-Annual, and Annual ROP requirements are met in collaboration with the Air Compliance Manager, including reviewing scrubber water flow, pressure drop, and ammonia loading test results
- Collaborate with Water/Wastewater Compliance Manager and outside contractors
- Monitor Rule 290 exempt devices, document operating parameters, and supervise the Annual Boiler RATA test
