ROLE OBJECTIVE

Working closely with and reporting to the CEO, the emphasis of this role is to provide meticulous inventory control and Warehouse & facilities Management at our Warehousing facility that stores our new Thermo King, Whiting, Joloda and Anteo equipment. At all times, you will ensure that internal and external customers receive the highest quality service and deliveries to meet their schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the daily operations of a fast-paced warehouse with stock coming and going daily (picking, packing, receiving, delivery and collections of goods)
  • Regularly monitor stock levels, measure inventory turnover rates and ensure stock levels do not exceed what is required with stock takes and cycle counting.
  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Data entry - booking parts to work orders and entering to data system on time.
  • Dealing with suppliers as required
  • Loading and unloading and delivery of goods/units to customers including appropriate documentation.
  • Picking and packing and issuing parts for production.
  • Driving forklifts
  • Provide a time critical and efficient service for internal and external customers regarding parts/components advice and identification.
  • Receive parts deliveries, unpack stock and place in store location.
  • Arrange and control dispatch and receipt of goods/items sent for external operations.
  • Maintain communication with customers and suppliers concerning any difficulties, delays or changes to delivery schedules or requirements.
  • Provide feedback to Manager on the progress of operational activities and the possibility of any obstacles arising which may prevent the attainment of KPI’s.
  • Prepare general reports as requested and handle administrative requirements for the Warehouse.
  • Ensure all warehouse processes, procedures and activities are recorded and that ongoing reviews and corrective actions are performed to ensure the warehouse is improving continuously.
  • Develop and maintain a clean, functioning and efficient warehouse.
  • Participating in regular meetings with Management Team
  • Carry out all other ad hoc tasks requested by Management.
  • Be aware of, and comply with, obligations in regard to relevant legislation, ISO and SSG ethical standards.
  • Follow and ensure compliance to all WHS policies, safe work procedures and work instructions (whether in writing or oral). Not place yourself or others at risk of injury. Report hazards and injuries to Management.
  • Ensure the security of Hanwood Downs Pty Ltd information, particularly company, pricing, sales or market information.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Business Management, Lean manufacturing or demonstrated experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to develop strategy in line with SSG’s warehousing objectives and convert this to operational results.
  • Proven experience with implementing and optimising solutions in warehousing environments, including familiarity with warehouse management software integration.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability leading a team for results excellence.
  • Previous experience in DC parts operation or a warehouse environment in the refrigeration/automotive industry
  • Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems (paperless) and Inventory Management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an active supervisor and managing a team.
