Sr. Product Manager, New Markets - US - Apex, NC


The Blueprint (Role Profile)


Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Management, this position will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and capitalizing on new growth opportunities across various markets and verticals. Working closely with SBU leaders, the role will explore potential future directions ("runways") for Crescent through professional product and route-to-market development. Collaboration with key stakeholders, including SBU leaders, sales/channel leaders and end-user marketing teams, will be crucial for identifying these new platform opportunities. Leveraging your strategic vision, market expertise, and business acumen, this role will spearhead to expand the reach and relevance of the Crescent Brand in established or emerging sectors.

The Build (Responsibilities)


  1. Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify new markets and verticals with growth potential for Crescent, considering factors such as industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
  2. Evaluate market opportunities and potential entry strategies, assessing factors such as market size, growth projections, competitive dynamics, and regulatory considerations.
  3. Collaborate with product development teams to tailor Crescent's product portfolio to the specific needs and preferences of target markets, ensuring alignment with market requirements and customer expectations.
  4. Partner with Insights Team to leverage new Crescent Expert Advisor panel to step change end user/product understanding within Crescent.
  5. Work closely with sales teams to enable successful market entry and expansion, providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and training to effectively engage with customers and drive revenue growth.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and coordination across functions in support of new market initiatives.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)


  1. BS/BA or University degree in Business or Marketing or similar field, MBA a plus.
  2. 7+ years of marketing and/or product management experience with consumer goods, durable, or professional products companies.
  3. Proven track record of success in market development, product development, or related roles, preferably within the tools or related industries.
  4. Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities. Ability to interpret and analyze market research data to make clear strategy recommendations and decisions.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Results-oriented mindset with a focus on driving measurable business outcomes.
  7. Flexibility to travel as needed.
