Position: Lead Frontend Engineer
Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid)
Job Type: Full-Time


Job Description: Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Lead Frontend Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining the tool suite, which is used by operators to control each autonomous robot in the field.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and enhance the user interface of the operator tool suite using React (70% of your time).
  2. Collaborate with backend developers to integrate and process data for analysis tools used by in-house inspectors.
  3. Work on backend components, particularly within Flask or Django frameworks (30% of your time).
  4. Ensure the seamless performance of the tools in real-time operations, maintaining a high standard of code quality and usability.
  5. Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  6. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including robotics engineers, data scientists, and product managers.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a developer with a focus on frontend development.
  2. Proficiency in React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  3. Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
  4. Experience working with real-time data processing and visualization.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for working on innovative technology.
  6. Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience in developing tools for controlling hardware or robotics.
  2. Knowledge of inspection processes.
  3. Understanding of autonomous systems.
