Summary:
AgReserves, Inc. is seeking eligible and driven Controller Trainees to enter our Rotational Development Program . This opportunity is an accelerated training program that starts at a flagship Ag operation and is designed to prepare participants to fill the role of Controller at one of our various operations. The Trainee will rotate through various areas including but not limited to: Payables, Receivables, Inventory and other Costs, Business Unit and Consolidated Budgeting and Analysis, Capital Spending, Payroll, Managerial and Consolidated GAAP Reporting, as well as various special projects. A successful candidate demonstrates proficiency in all accounting functions, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment and adaptation to change while maintaining positive relationships with all levels of staff.
Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
  • Prepare journal entries and conduct reconciliation of the general ledger and general ledger accounts. Prepare analysis to ensure accounts are properly stated.
  • Participate in month-end closing for multiple entities.
  • Perform proper review to ensure that accounting records are accurate, complete and ledgers are closed in a timely manner. Participate with management in preparation of annual budgets.
  • Advise managers in financial matters where appropriate.
  • Monitor payables, budget variances, and important trends.
  • Ensure internal controls exist to adequately mitigate risk inherent in key processes.
  • Work with the field finance groups, corporate team, and other business units on accounting, reporting, and analysis projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related degree required; MAcc, MBA, CPA, CMA or potential candidate preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in accounting with previous leadership experience. Public accounting (audit) experience desired.
  • High competency with ERP accounting software, spreadsheets, databases, data extraction, and MS Tools. Previous Infor use a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with senior management.
  • Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese ability highly desired.
  • Willing and able to work in-office at the assigned operation.
  • Ability to travel, as well as potentially relocate within the US within 18-24 months.
