In this position, the Senior CNC Programmer works with manufacturing, sales, and quality personnel to program precision parts for laser cutting and forming on our automatic laser and fully robotic press brake to customer specified tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Utilizes work orders, blueprints, sketches, written and verbal instructions to determine job requirements
  • Write/edit production programs for laser cutting and automated robotic press brake using existing, or customer supplied CAD models
  • Prepare detailed standardized work instructions and set-up sheets
  • Create optimized programs that run efficiently and prevent machine damage
  • Observes first article production and inspection to verify parts are conforming
  • Works with manufacturing personnel to enhance programming and production efficiency
  • Consults with management to resolve manufacturing problems
  • Works with sales to analyze drawings and solid models of precision parts to hold tight tolerances and determine if the components can be produced with current tooling inventory
  • Provides feedback to operations if new tooling is required for production
  • Maintains current files and revisions of all client parts

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience with CNC programming
  • Proficient in press brake forming, tooling, K-factors and or bend deduction
  • Ability to use inspection tools such as tape measure, micrometers, calipers, and protractors
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks or 3D modeling software
  • Knowledge of Material specifications
  • Experience working with ERP system (SAP is a plus)
  • Knowledge with Trumpf TruTops Boost and Oseon software is a plus
  • Must have the ability to gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data, such as customer provided drawings, specifications, and engineering design changes
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written skills to clearly exchange direction with all but not limited to, internal company production personnel, outside sales, and customers
  • Proficiency in SMS Excel, Word, MS Project preferred

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience preferred. Combination of work experience and other degrees maybe considered.
  • 3-5 years in a related industry
