General Description:
The Database Admin is responsible for demonstrating Parrish Healthcare’s Culture of Choice®, managing and maintaining the organization’s databases and database engines. The Database Admin ensures databases are secure, reliable, and efficient. The Desktop Administrator ensures user environments function as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the achievement of meeting company goals and initiatives, profitability, and productivity requirements.
Provide assistance to other colleagues and other IT team members in the design, development, and testing of reports, reporting solutions and data warehousing and management and maintenance of the system.
Planning and executing database upgrades, applying patches and fixes, and performing regular maintenance tasks to keep the database systems up-to-date and running smoothly.
Implementing security measures to protect the database from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats.
Monitoring database performance, identifying bottlenecks, and optimizing queries and indexes to improve system efficiency.
Developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies to ensure the integrity and availability of data in case of system failures or disasters.
Assisting users in accessing and retrieving data from databases, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical support to Service Desk team.
Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of database related activities with broader IT initiatives.
Foster a customer-centric culture within the service desk team, promoting excellent customer service and effective communication.
Implement security measures to maintain database integrity and protect important data from cyberattack.
Conduct automation feasibility studies, including workflow analysis, and cost comparison analysis.
Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
Requirements: Formal Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required (A combination of experience and/or certifications may be considered).
Work Experience:
3 years to < 5 years
Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations:
Certification in Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or newer (MSSQL) is required within 1 year.
Must complete MySQL Server 8.0 or higher or Oracle SQL training within 1 year.
