JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX Corporation is looking for an Android Engineer for its digital Product Engineering - AdTech SDK team. The candidate should have a strong working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and native Android and FireTV application development skills.
The candidate should feel comfortable working with a broad range of Native application technologies, possess a strong working knowledge of Android Frameworks, be proficient in Object-oriented/Java programming, and be able to work with several internal teams and external partners. They should possess excellent debugging and problem-solving skills and be able to create functional applications that perfectly meet the needs of the product.
The Android Engineer will play a key role in building out and maintaining current native Adtech SDKs, as well as engineering new SDKs from scratch for various Fox brands. They will help influence our mobile development stack to create enterprise-level SDKs on the Android platform. They will solve challenging technical problems and maintain good communication with other developers and stakeholders such as designers, project managers, and product managers. In addition to programming, they will help develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, testing solutions, and solidify the development process.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, optimize, and develop new features using Google Ad Manager/IMA SDKs, Header Bidding, and other Ad tech libraries for FOX’s consumer-facing Android, AndroidTV, and FireTV applications to meet specific business requirements for video players, digital advertising, and analytics.
- Develop software that is modular, scalable, stable, and optimized.
- Work collaboratively with team members and internal technology to focus on coding standards and best practices.
- Integrate third-party plug-ins and software components with FOX’s consumer-facing native applications.
- Help further the mobile development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment.
- Help develop solutions for enterprise-level challenges such as supporting multiple Fox clients, interfacing with video players and APIs, and helping ensure timely delivery with reusable, reliable code.
- Work with developers across different development environments such as brand engineers and backend service teams.
- Provide support for internal teams and external vendors utilizing supported platform components.
- Cultivate subject matter expertise in the areas of online display and video advertising and become an expert in the latest advertising technologies.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- BS or higher in Computer Science or any other related field.
- Experience in Android Development using Java and/or Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented programming and design patterns.
- Experience with source control systems, specifically Git.
- Experience with RESTful JSON feed consumption.
- Experience with continuous integration.
- Experience with build dependency management and integrating third-party libraries.
- Experience with the latest development paradigms regarding performance, security, and coding best practices.
- Good communication skills with different stakeholders such as QA, Project Managers, and Product Owners.
- Prior Adtech experience is a huge plus (not a must, but a nice to have).
NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER
- Prior React Native development experience is a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $95,000.00-140,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
