Summary of Position:

To plan, organize, and direct the overall activities of the internal Information Technology initiatives for CMC Group companies. To work with the CFO and CMC top managers to help develop and support the strategic long-term goals, policies and plans for I.T. in order to optimize the overall return on investment and support business objectives. Technologies include telecommunications, computer hardware, software support, development and internet/web. Directly manage the I.T. department and personnel that support application development, technical and ongoing user support.


Essential Duties:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives that align with the company's overall objectives. This includes assessing current technology needs, identifying opportunities for improvement, and forecasting future requirements. This will also include leadership through an upcoming update of the Company’s ERP solution, currently Microsoft AX 2012.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the leaders responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure components, including networks, servers, storage, and cloud services. Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and reliable to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, and support staff. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure team members are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
  • Information Security: Develop, enhance and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect company data and systems from internal and external threats. Stay current on emerging security threats and technologies to proactively mitigate risks.
  • Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and technology partners. Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements, and ensure vendors deliver value and meet performance expectations.
  • Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the IT department budget, including forecasting expenses, tracking spending, and optimizing resource allocation. Balance the need for innovation with cost-effective solutions to maximize ROI.
  • Project Leadership: Lead IT projects, or IT portions of wider ranging Company projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Company Project Management Department to define project requirements and priorities.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure IT systems and practices comply with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Maintain documentation and implement processes for audits and compliance reporting.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven strong management skills with ability to collaborate with strong senior management team
  • Strong leader and mentor
  • Extensive experience as project manager and facilitator
  • Experience with manufacturing company
  • Strong technical skills in computer and telecommunications
  • Experience with improving business results with technology to positively effect top line and bottom line results
  • Current technology experience with ERP, manufacturing and CRM systems (prefer MS Dynamics AX & MS CRM)
  • Internet knowledge with experience utilizing the Web as a strong sales channel tool

Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS, or equivalent
  • Previous P&L responsibilities.
  • 5+ years general business experience with at least 3-5 years IT Management experience
