Job Title:             Office Manager
Classification:    Non-Exempt / Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate:           $28 p/h - $30 p/h
Reports to:        Chief of Staff/VP of Public Affairs
Brooklyn Bridge Park seeks an enthusiastic, motivated, friendly, and reliable professional for this critical role. The role has three primary functions: 1) serving as the organization’s office manager and receptionist; 2) serving as an assistant to the President; and 3) providing administrative support to various departments, including Public Affairs, Legal, People & Culture, Capital Projects & Restoration, and Permits & Events. Our ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, a strong passion for learning and sharing information, exemplifies a "no task is too small" attitude, and has a sense of humor. You should be detail-oriented and have experience providing administrative support.
Office Manager/Receptionist Functions:
  • Greet all visitors, including colleagues, guests, and the general public at the BBP main office.
  • Answer the organization’s main phone line and respond to requests for information.
  • Manage the President’s phone line and calendar.
  • Provide administrative support to various Park departments as detailed above.
  • Handle deliveries, incoming/outgoing mail, and other office assistance as needed.
  • Provide necessary support to ensure effective and efficient meetings.
  • Manage and order office supplies, kitchen supplies, and other items as needed.
  • Manage logistics for internal events and community meetings.
  • Order food and beverages for meetings, staff events, and other occasions.
  • Arrange conference rooms, AV equipment, dial-in numbers, and video conferences.
  • Help maintain an orderly and neat office space, kitchen, and conference rooms.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • NYC residency required

Brooklyn Bridge Park, one of the largest and most significant public projects to be built in New York City in a generation, has transformed a once dilapidated industrial waterfront into a vibrant and thriving 85-acre civic landscape. The Brooklyn Bridge Park Corporation (BBP) develops, improves, maintains, and fully operates the Park as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity, controlled by the City of New York. BBP is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Park, including horticulture, maintenance, capital planning and construction, event permitting, and concession oversight. The Park is designed by the Brooklyn-based landscape architecture firm Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Inc.
