DSHS Health Services Manager

We’re seeking the Special Commitment Center ’s (SCC) next Health Services Manager to manage all aspects of the SCC Medical Clinic.

In this role, you will promote and ensure equitable and accessible medical care for the residents at SCC through overseeing operations and coordinating their healthcare. You will play a pivotal role in working with other Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) medical clinics to standardize process and policy, and coordinate with other disciplines to ensure that best medical practice standards are upheld.

At SCC you will work with a collegial team of dedicated medical personnel and receive 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Additional benefits include job security, a comprehensive medical benefits package, and a pension plan.

SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary.

Some of what you’ll do:

  • Represent SCC in administration wide work groups
  • Lead policy development and implementation of health clinic policies and procedures
  • Conduct regular rounds of medical department to identify and address hazards
  • Facilitate staff meetings
  • Lead efforts to obtain insurance coverage for SCC residents
  • Manage billing information and requests
  • Lead emergency planning efforts for clinic
  • Serve as the hiring supervisor for the clinic
  • Provide operational oversight and management to clinic staff

What we’re looking for:

Professionals with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, healthcare management or related and five years of progressively responsible medical clinic management experience and knowledge of the behavioral health medical system in Washington state, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
