JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Warehouse Management team in managing the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. Under the direction of Warehouse Management, helps coordinate all dock shipping and receiving activities by using inventory control systems, shipping documents, personnel, and time management. Assists Warehouse Management team in the monitoring and executing all compliance documents as per Company’s standards in Personnel and Food Safety, sanitation, and productivity.
Ensures picking orders are fulfilled in a timely manner and maintains fulfillment ratios at industry standards or above.Follows strict directive in the execution of his/her hourly schedule and do not deviate unless directed by warehouse management team,
Works with QA Director in the implementation of the Food Safety program in the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for his/her own safety and well-being of all peer associates.
- Conducts loading and unloading of trailers in a safe and efficient manner.
- Moves product from one location to another in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must obey all traffic and speed signs throughout the commissary facility, inside and out.
- Wear all equipment safety gear and safety belt as per company’s policies and procedures.
- Supplies raw materials from storage areas to all production departments and picks up finished goods from production areas and stores them in a safe and efficient manner.
- Disposes recyclables, trash, and waste in designated bins and/or trash receptacles.
- Performs all picking, staging, and loading activities to ensure orders are shipped in a timely manner.
- Ensures that documentation for each load upon completion, is completed, signed off, and provides final check lists to Supervisor or Leads for final issuing of bill of lading and final release of shipment.
- Ensures full compliance with facility and department safety rules, HACCP, SSOP’s & GMP’s according to Company’s Food Safety guidelines.
- Performs the transport handling of all shipments, loading and unloading.
- Ensures that all raw materials and finished goods are properly stored according to Company’s Foods Safety standards.
- Reports immediately to the Supervisor any driving accidents and/or property and material damage.
- Relieves other forklift associates when taking breaks.
- Executes the proper and smooth functioning of all picking, storing, shipping, and receiving activities.
- Assists Warehouse Team in the management of the entire inventory in the warehouse.
- Follow all necessary documentation and legal procedures for dispatch and receiving goods.
- Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and packaging of goods and materials.
- Ensure that the work area is kept clean and in an orderly manner.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all local and state health and sanitation laws and regulations.
- Perform any other work-related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent education.
- Must be able to operate pallet-wrapping machines.
- Must have a solid attendance record.
- Food Handlers Certification
- Forklift Certification
- Must show a calm and professional demeanor while working on a forklift.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and motivational capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have decision making abilities.
- Ability to effectively manage time and meet all necessary deadlines.
- Must understand all safety and legal procedures for handling and receiving goods.
- Be able to pass a standard drug test and qualify as being drug free under the legal and medical guidelines permitted by the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
