ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER I:
• Under general supervision, performs a variety of assignments within a framework of established procedures, including typing, filing, and records management
• Prepares and reviews preliminary and final design plans, engineering reports, permit documents, standard details, specifications and other documents required to complete the design phase of capital projects and prepare projects for construction
• Files documents, maintains computerized & manual records, and compiles data for general information purposes & individual requests for special reports
• Compares, processes, or maintains a variety of reports and documents
• Aids in preparation of cost quote estimates for military base construction projects
• As directed, gathers financial data and assists in preparation of schedules for new construction proposals
• Assists in ensuring adherence with policies to maintain local, state, and federal regulatory compliance
• Identifies and aids in developing process improvements to increase efficiency & effectiveness of current activities
• Assists in preparation of internal and external audit activities as required
• Provides technical expertise to staff and other team members related, and not limited to, regulatory and engineering matters
• Other duties as assigned

• Assists Engineer(s) / Capital staff in master plan preparations
• Prepares cost quote estimates for military base construction projects
• Processes and reviews information & data used to generate the monthly general ledger & attendant subsidiary ledgers, records, and reports
• Gathers financial data and assists in preparation of schedules for new construction proposals
• Ensures adherence with policies to maintain local, state, and federal regulatory compliance
• Identifies and aids in developing process improvements to increase efficiency & effectiveness of current activities
• Assists in preparation of internal and external audit activities as required

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS FOR JUNIOR PROJECT ENGINEER I:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent, or no less than 4 years of experience in the area of Civil design
• Two (2) or more years of related experience preferred
• Engineer In Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of position entry
• One (1) year or more of AutoCAD experience in general civil design or in public utilities design strongly preferred
• AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge and experience preferred
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License issued by the state where employed
• Must take and pass Federal OSHA and or State Mandated Safety training with annual refresher courses as required by the associated regulations for this position

COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
