Working in a virtual environment, this position will play a pivotal role in the future expansion of our company. This role will be focused on finding and developing new client relationships with stakeholders of large-scale events and enterprise customer relationships, and working as One-Team across the company to help other leaders identify new strategies for growth. The ideal individual must be self-motivated and eager to learn and drive success for our customers. This role does not lead the M&IW Sales Team and does not have direct reports.
What you will do here :
• Develop your skills in acquiring new business opportunities that align with M&IW's long-term growth strategies
• Bring and develop new enterprise customer relationships with volume and size of annual business
• Assist in developing and driving the strategy for new business targeting
• Confidently understand and articulate M&IW solutions across our portfolio
• Approximately up to 30% travel, which may include conference attendance, customer pitches/visits/onsite support, and industry events
• Research and develop companies and relationships to pursue
• Utilization of multiple communication avenues to drive new business
• Monitor and document sales activity and opportunities in M&IW's CRM (Salesforce.com)
• Engaging internal M&IW subject matter experts as needed in the sales process (sourcing, program management, attendee registration, technology implementation, SMM, etc.)
• Aligning with M&IW's Marketing team for any support needed for collateral or presentation materials
• Ability to collaborate with Marketing on strategic initiatives and work to convert Marketing Qualified Leads
• Leading sales presentations, selling the value proposition and closing quality business aligned with goals
• Staying abreast of M&IW service offerings and continuous improvements
• Attending internal & external training and networking opportunities to further industry knowledge
• Timely accounting for sales related expenses into accounting system
• Understanding smart investments as applicable to business opportunities

What you will bring:
• Minimum 3 - 5 years of SALES experience in the events, conference, and meetings industry (large event sales preferred)
• College degree or equivalent
• Able to provide clear, concise, effective, and professional communications with clients, prospective clients, peers, vendors, and department managers
• Existing customer relationships or ability to generate quality customer relationships effectively
• Passion and strategy for growth and to excel in a fast-paced environment
• Wide range of computer skills:
• CRM such as salesforce.com knowledge and capabilities
• Proficient in Microsoft products and Office 365: Word, Excel, Teams and Internet/social media
• PowerPoint or other presentation platforms
• Knowledge of event industry technologies (i.e. Cvent, RainFocus, Swoogo or other)
• Outlook (email and scheduling)
