Job Summary and Purpose:
The Focus Factory Leader position (Director, Vaccine Manufacturing) will be responsible for directing the manufacturing operations in a manner that is compliant with all applicable international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations. This role is also responsible for developing teams that will aid in defining and driving manufacturing transformation linked to company and site-level long-term strategic objectives, near-term business targets, and improvement of existing processes at the Ceva Bio Campus located in Lenexa, KS.

This role will be integrated into the Leadership Team of the Ceva Bio Campus and aid in the development of long-term production planning, strategic manufacturing initiatives, establishing Quality mindsets, and advancing the cultural change of operational excellence. This will be achieved by serving as the subject matter expert in large-scale Vaccine Manufacturing, as well as demonstrating collaborative and cross-functional teamwork with Quality, Regulatory, and Continuous Improvement departments both locally and throughout the Ceva corporation.

We are seeking a pro-active, energetic, self-assured professional with high personal integrity and the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships. This position will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer of the Ceva Bio Campus at Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities and Key Duties:
Candidates will be expected to work both independently and collaboratively within the local and global Ceva organization. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, have solid communication skills, demonstrated abilities to work in a team environment, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Key responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

  1. Ensure compliance to all regulatory agencies while ensuring the manufacture of products with a Quality and Safety focus. This would require the support and full involvement with internal and external Quality and Regulatory audits.
  2. Ensure all processes and procedures related to the Industrial Manufacturing operations are in full accordance with our local and global systems and policies.
  3. Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to all teams within the Industrial Manufacturing function.
  4. Responsible for the management of the Industrial Manufacturing teams to include hiring, training, coaching, performance management, time and attendance management, etc.
  5. Work with the local Continuous Improvement team to drive company-wide initiatives to improve operational effectiveness as measured by categories such as quality, lead time reductions, product cost margins, yield improvements, and site expense savings.
  6. Support the leadership team of the Ceva Bio Campus in the deployment of any transformation change management initiatives, strategic long-term planning, and annual budget planning across the campus through coaching, mentoring, and full engagement across all functions.
  7. Be an active Change Agent that supports the identification and implementation of the necessary Lean tools to support the site transformation such as Tiers, Gembas, mini-transformations / Kaizen, Statistical Process Control, dashboards, and Lean Maturity Assessments.
