Job Summary
The Director of Pharmacy is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the pharmacy operations within a healthcare facility. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care and services to patients, while also managing pharmacy staff and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital pharmacy, with expertise in pain management, pediatrics, and IV infusion.

Duties

  • Lead and manage the pharmacy department, ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance patient safety and service delivery.
  • Oversee medication management processes, including aseptic technique and IV infusion protocols.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to optimize pharmacotherapy for patients in various settings, including PICU and managed care.
  • Provide guidance and support for pharmacy staff in clinical decision-making and patient care initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of medication therapies, adjusting as necessary to meet patient needs.
  • Facilitate ongoing education and training for pharmacy staff to maintain high standards of practice.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing pharmacy services and patient outcomes.

Experience

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Completion of a post-residency fellowship or equivalent experience in hospital pharmacy is preferred.
  • Proven experience in pain management, pediatrics, or related fields is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and IV infusion practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,964.00 - $157,000.00 per year
