Job Title: Systems EngineerJob DescriptionWe provide analysis-based systems engineering support to the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office. The Navy is modernizing the Trident missile to support the Columbia submarine deployment. We have an immediate need for a Functional Simulation Technical Lead to support U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and the Trident II D5 Strategic Weapon System (SWS) program.ResponsibilitiesBuild and lead a team of technical professionals to provide technical leadership and guidance for the development of a system-level functional simulation capability suite to support a large Navy defense program.Plan and develop a technical capability roadmap to deliver required capabilities to generate data for executive stakeholder decision making throughout the engineering lifecycle.Plan and track individual team activities and deliverables to completion, in accordance with established schedules and milestones.Plan, lead, and support internal and external engineering reviews, while also providing interim assessments and status to leadership on preparation and maturity of technical tools, capabilities, and products.Support System Integration and Verification and Validation Team’s data needs through modeling and simulation development, including providing inputs to plans and maintaining simulation technical baseline and documentation using configuration management processes.Collaborate directly with government customers, University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC), and industry to implement appropriate tools to plan and measure design maturity, identify risks, issues, and opportunities.Demonstrate the leadership behaviors to effectively communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and work in a visible and proactive manner across organizational boundaries to deliver positive results.Be a highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, and self-starting individual able to respond rapidly to a dynamic programmatic environment.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science degree in engineering/technical discipline, and 10+ years related or equivalent experience, training and/or certifications.2 years’ experience supporting systems engineering on large DoD programs.Experience with managing activities across a diverse portfolio of projects and programs for commercial or government customers.US Citizenship and actively hold a Secret clearance.Proficient in creating simulations to generate data to enable the conduct of assessments and providing briefing and / or reports to leadership highlighting the results and recommended actions.Experience applying Modeling-based Systems Engineering tools, including simulations to develop digital engineering products.Willing to travel approximately 10% of the time.Must work well within a geographically and organizational distributed team environment.Must possess strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsMaster's degree in engineering or other technical discipline.Actively hold a TS clearance.Experience with large, complex, system design and development programs.Experience supporting and conducting assessments and large-scale reviews.Experience with designing, modeling, and building resilient systems.Experience with the Navy SSP or Trident programs.Experience with DoD acquisition policies and requirements.Work EnvironmentEngineering Heavy Environment with state of the art Digital Engineering lab.About ActalentActalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
