We are looking to hire aDirector of Sales for the Eastern US division . The Director of Sales will manage a division staffed with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and is responsible for attaining division and individual sales (units and dollars) goals for an assigned region. The Director of Sales will also be accountable for developing and maintaining professional relationships with existing and prospective dealers; supervising, developing, and training assigned RSMs; and having a solid understanding of the competition and marketplace.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Sales and Relationship Management

  • Achieve annual and mid-term unit and dollar sales goals.
  • Plan, develop, and implement written programs for accounts within the division to achieve sales goals.
  • Report as necessary on sales activities and forecasts (by month, by product, by dealer, by area, etc.), threats and opportunities, strategic plans, and sales program implementations.
  • Develop and maintain good business relationships with major accounts through periodic contacts and proper handling of sales and administrative functions.

Administration

  • Manage expenses to budget.
  • Effectively train and develop the sales personnel to ensure the development and accomplishment of established sales objectives.

Market Intelligence

  • Conduct market gathering activities to have a solid understanding of the competition’s offerings and Toyo sales opportunities.
  • Make suggestions on products, sales programs, policies, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passenger, light truck, and medium truck tires product knowledge.
  • Management and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com, and widely used data tools (Cognos, SAP, Concur, etc.)
  • Goal and service-oriented.
  • Ability to travel, with overnight accommodations, at least three (3) nights per week.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving history.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise subordinates to support the functions of the position. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this function.Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of tire sales experience. Education may be substituted with relevant experience.
