Position: Data Warehouse Engineer
Location: McLean, Virginia
Summary
The role of a data warehouse engineer at Clark is someone with the knowledge and skills to turn raw data into information and insights, which can be used to make business decisions. On a day-to-day basis, a data analyst will provide meaningful analysis and insights to Clark leaders and project teams.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
- Strong data modeling and analysis skills (E-R models, ERWin etc.)
- Proficiency in handling cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift etc. and in noSQL databases like Cosmos, Bigtable etc.
- Expertise in SQL, with attention to detail in performing data analysis
- Adept at queries, data analysis, writing reports, and making presentations to all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau, PowerBI (desired)
- Proven team-player and collaborator with cross-functional technical and business teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format from various enterprise applications and third-party sources
- Model databases and data marts, supporting consumers in meaningful extraction and transformation of the data
- Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data from various sources
- Enable users to remove corrupted data and fix data errors and related problems
- Develop and maintain analytics and reports: Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for diagnosis and prediction
- Prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
- Work with programmers, engineers, and management to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications
- Scrutinize data to recognize and identify patterns to summarize the overall features of data analysis
