This position reports to the Revenue Manager within the Accounting Organization and will be responsible for revenue oil and gas bookings and analysis for the Company???s assets
This position will interface regularly with Regulatory Accounting, Production Accounting, Marketing, and Land Administration.
Responsibilities
- Record revenue for oil, gas and NGLs for various assets.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, AR aging research, and financial variance analyses for various assets.
- Actively supervise the monthly and quarterly deliverables to ensure timely and accurate reporting for various assets.
- Execute, distribute and analyze monthly allocations.
- Provide explanations for royalty check write variances as necessary.
- Monitor and clear account receivable.
- Review revenue related agreements for appropriate accounting for various assets in accordance with ASC606
Ensure adherence to all revenue-related policies and procedures. - Ensure compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and all company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and distribute monthly invoicing.
- Process payment requests for revenue related expenses.
- Work with Regulatory Accounting on State and Federal Royalty and Tax payment compliance.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure reporting timeliness and accuracy.
- Prepare documentation related to audit samples and SOX control testing.
- Develop positive working relations both internally and externally.
- Assist with ad-hoc requests and special projects as needed.
- Bachelor???s Degree in Accounting or related degree required.
- Up to 5 years of experience in Upstream Oil and Gas Accounting.
- Self-motivated and hardworking individual.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; comfortable dealing with peers and management.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with peers.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines.
- Willing to work after hours as needed in order to meet deadlines.
- Continuing development in functional/technical skills Adapts well to changes in responsibilities and workloads.
- System savvy and ability to work with different applications and databases, including Oracle and EU system knowledge preferred.
- Good problem solving and time management skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Excel including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
