DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibility is for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services as it relates to the Auditing Department. This includes processing payments and expenditures and preparing control reports to ensure accuracy. All work needs to be performed in a timely and appropriate manner. Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Verify invoices, voucher transmittals, and schedules for completeness and accuracy, including authorization approvals.
  • Verify transactions comply with fiscal policies and procedures.
  • Prepare documents for data entry into the PeopleSoft system.
  • Check and compare various documents for accuracy and content and make corrections where necessary.
  • Maintain a record of daily and weekly activities of work generated.
  • Prepare electronic vouchers.
  • Provide a variety of reports to departments for the purpose of releasing funds for accounts payable and payroll.
  • Perform clerical duties of a complicated nature and maintain various records as required or needed.
  • Research prior records as needed, including for the annual ACFR report
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Excellent clerical, bookkeeping, data entry, typing and computer skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications particularly Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials highly desirable.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision and exercise good judgment and responsibility in carrying out established procedures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer. Answer telephones and maintain multiple files. May require minimal lifting of up to 10 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard office environment. Fluorescent lighting, carpeted floors and air conditioning.
