Job Description: Direct and execute all activities of Epworth By The Sea, either directly or through delegated authority, exercising spiritual disciplines that reflect Epworth’s mission as a Christian retreat center; provide leadership in these and other areas, including the creation of strategic, tactical and financial plans; develop goals and measuring performance of the approved goals; provide organizational development of public, private and affiliated institutions; develop trustee services and development; develop the staff of Epworth By The Sea.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the development of Epworth By The Sea's statement of vision, mission and goals, and the corresponding strategies, plans, budgets, and fundraising to achieve them.
- Serve as ambassador and spokesperson for Epworth By The Sea to the public, government and affiliated organizations.
- Provide leadership in the development of priority plans, performance measurements, management controls, and critical success factors.
- Review approved plans and budgets as part of the annual planning and budgeting cycle and present recommendations to the Board of Trustees and/or the appropriate committee.
- Develop and provide, with the Executive Committee, appropriate policy recommendations for consideration by the Board.
- Ensure that an annual plan and budget are prepared for and presented to the Board of Trustees.
- Propose agendas with the Executive Committee and the Board of Trustees reflecting issues, opportunities and priorities.
- Present a written report to all Board meetings.
- Develop and maintain an effective staff organization which provides appropriate policy and program recommendations for consideration by the Board and its committees, and which deliver services, programs and information beneficial to the Trustees.
- Oversee the process to hire, reward, discipline, terminate and set the remuneration of all Epworth By The Sea employees except for himself, in accordance with policy and/or approved budgets.
- Maintain the necessary contacts to keep abreast of emerging issues of significance to Epworth By The Sea.
- Perform such other duties as are prescribed in writing from time to time by the Board of Trustees or Executive Committee.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Executive Leadership.
