Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking to hire an ESG Analyst. The role of ESG Analyst is newly created to support the ESG Director and key stakeholders.

The ESG Analyst will initially be charged with data collection on ESG key performance indicators, working across the organization and with third-parties to input, verify and manage. On a regular basis, the Analyst will also create reports from that data to be shared with business partners internally. The Analyst will also serve as a resource to assist with new business proposals, adding original content and editing existing responses to ensure updated, accurate and competitive responses. The Analyst will also assist the Director with administrative support including travel, expenses, meeting preparation, PowerPoint creation and calendar management.

The ideal candidate will have a mix of general research and administrative skills, a passion for environmental and social issues, interest in sustainability and general working knowledge around carbon emissions.

The position will report directly to the Director of ESG and will be located in the corporate headquarters in Willow Grove, PA. This position requires someone who is equally comfortable with some direction and collaboration, as well as independence to handle new assignments and topics. The position will leverage technology to work with colleagues in other locations (typically via Teams). This is a direct opportunity to develop and deepen one’s understanding of ESG and sustainability topics within a company and to offer insights and creativity in the reporting and communication of the department’s work.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Data collection and research tasks such as collection of data and input of greenhouse gas emissions calculation
  • Support new business proposals with writing and editing of responses to questions on ESG and related topics
  • Support ESG reporting with writing, editing, data collection, and research; this includes: Annual Sustainability Report, Customer requests for climate data, Annual EcoVadis Assessment
  • Production of regular ESG reporting
  • Assist Director with creation of materials for meetings, conference engagements and trainings
  • Research support for special projects, including drafting of short reports based on research results
  • Administrative activities including calendar scheduling, travel arrangements and expense management

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written) with fluency in English
  • Self-motivated and able to work alone at times without detailed supervision
  • Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated commitment to work under deadlines
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to adapt tasks and role as ESG Department evolves
  • Comfortable with new technologies and apps that support ESG work and reporting

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related
  • Preferred Experience or background in environmental science, ESG, Sustainability, social research, data collection/evaluation.

Travel Requirements:

  • Must be willing to travel to meet with clients.
