Your Role:
As VP of Mortgage Banking, you will oversee the development, implementation, and management of UHC's mortgage lending programs. You will build and nurture relationships with business partners, streamline internal operations, and ensure that our lending programs meet the financing needs of Utah's first-time homebuyers and others who may qualify for UHC programs. We are seeking a dynamic leader with strategic vision and operational expertise, a person who can collaborate with others to keep UHC's mission at the forefront.

Your Impact:
As VP of Mortgage Banking , your leadership will profoundly impact UHC's ability to make homeownership a reality for Utah residents. You will:
- Lead and Develop Staff: Empower your team by fostering an environment of growth, offering professional development opportunities, specialized training, and cross-functional skill-building. Report to and regularly collaborate with the Senior VP/Chief Operating Officer to ensure clear communication and alignment on goals, driving success through consistent leadership.
- Collaborate Across Departments: Play an integral role in UHC's Leadership Team, facilitating smooth cross-departmental coordination. Ensure efficient communication, particularly with our Mortgage Servicing team, to achieve UHC's mission and goals.
- Drive Business Development: Act as the primary liaison and ambassador for UHC's single-family lending programs, building awareness within the lending and real estate communities. Strengthen relationships, create educational opportunities for partners, and represent UHC at key industry events to empower first-time and low-to-moderate income homebuyers.
- Ensure Compliance and Optimize Processes: Ensure internal procedures comply with all applicable guidelines (e.g., CFPB, HUD, GNMA, GSEs, State of Utah) and regularly review processes to align with regulatory standards, increasing operational efficiency.
- Monitor and Report: Continuously assess UHC's mortgage product offerings to meet the needs of target populations. Coordinate the preparation of insightful reports and disseminate information to lenders, partners, and UHC's executive team.
- Provide Technical and Regulatory Expertise: Offer expert advice on relevant regulations and funding standards, particularly concerning bonds and securitizations. Develop a solid understanding of technical systems used by Mortgage Banking to ensure accurate, timely reporting.
- Oversee Audits and Compliance: Lead the timely completion of audits and purchasing processes. Collaborate closely with the Assistant VP of Mortgage Banking to maintain pre-purchase compliance, ensuring accuracy and prompt conditions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, with continuing education in mortgage-related areas preferred. You should have at least seven years of professional experience in mortgage lending, with proven success in leading and developing staff, implementing technology, and managing single-family loan programs. In-depth knowledge of state and federal mortgage lending regulations, laws and practices and technical expertise in mortgage technology systems are essential. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must, as well as the ability to represent UHC in public forums and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
Compensation:
The full-time VP of Mortgage Banking role offers a salary range of $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience.
