Our boutique public relations firm is looking for a talented account coordinator who has a passion for traditional and social media. We are currently looking for an account coordinator with internship experience in the public relations, marketing or media relations fields. The position is 100 percent remote and can be based anywhere in the Central and Eastern Time Zones, with a preference for those based in Florida and the DMV area. Team members are required to be connected in our virtual office platform from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The account coordinator will be responsible for traditional and social media. Traditional media tasks include organizing our clients' accounts, developing story ideas, writing press releases, writing pitches and executing press initiatives. Social media tasks include organizing content calendars, developing ideas for content, writing posts, utilizing Canva to develop visual content, scheduling posts through Sprout, monitoring social media accounts for engagement, and tracking analytics. The candidate will be responsible for communicating with other team members to make sure all efforts are aligned with our client's business development goals.
Traditional Media Responsibilities:
- Read the news to stay informed on industry and consumer trends, breaking news, current affairs and more.
- Clips news articles.
- Monitor news tied to our clients and their industries.
- Write pitches, media advisories, press releases, and more.
- Contribute ideas for press initiatives.
- Create and maintain media lists, utilizing Muckrack.
- Pitch targeted publications to secure articles in high-profile media outlets.
- Building strategic content calendars to align with client business development goals.
- Content creation for social platforms and channels, including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn and more.
- Publishing and scheduling content across all social platforms through Sprout Social.
- Managing community engagement, communicating with social media followers, and monitoring messages.
- Assisting with monthly digital media reports.
- Staying on top of trends by conducting research and bringing new ideas to the table.
- Assist with developing visuals to accompany posts, primarily through Canva.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business, Political Science or a similar relevant field.
- Internship experience in the public relations, marketing, media relations, or related fields.
- Must provide professional references from former internship supervisors or employers.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Media savvy.
- Strong written and verbal skills.

- Experience using content publishing tools such as Hootsuite and Sprout.
- Experience with Canva and/or the Adobe Creative Suite.
