WORK SCHEDULE

  • 40 hours per week, Day Shift
  • Mondays - Fridays, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Accountable for the planning, design, construction and closeout phases of facilities and other capital projects of varying size, scale and complexity for the Harborview campus.
  • Assist in managing the Facilities and Capital Development contracts for A&E professional services and construction related services.
  • Work throughout the 2 million square foot campus and interact with designers, contractors, consultants, administrative and front-line staff, managers, hospital leadership, engineering, construction services, infection prevention, environmental services and other departments.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Facilities and Capital Development Division is a team of highly motivated and diverse individuals driven by Harborview’s mission to serve the most vulnerable residents of King County. Harborview is on the precipice of a $1.7B New Tower expansion, funded by a King County bond measure that was passed by the voters in 2020.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In partnership with Facilities and Capital Development leaders, serve as the project leader for all phases of assigned facility and capital projects.
  • Manage multiple projects with varying schedules, budgets and other constraints.
  • Build relationships with all key stakeholders, vendors, suppliers and contractors to support project objectives.
  • Responsible for maintaining project controls and documentation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide accurate monthly reporting to Division leadership on managed projects.
  • Provide mentorship to Divisional support staff as needed.
  • Coordinate with Facility Engineering leads and other stakeholders to review plans, specifications and building standards for project compliance.
  • Coordinate system shutdowns, tie-ins, etc. as warranted with Facility Engineering to support ongoing operations and project advancement.
  • Direct, review, negotiate and approve A/E/C additional work requests and pay applications.
  • Coordinate the procurement, delivery and installation of Owner items (FFE, MME, signage, etc.).
  • Direct and manage multiple contractors with various contractual arrangements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering.
  • 10+ years progressive experience in construction project management – occupied healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experienced professional managing multiple, overlapping projects and teams.
  • Experienced in creating and managing project budgets, contracts and driving schedule.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong organizational skills.
  • Skilled in communications and able to work with people in a tactful and diplomatic manner, using good judgment, while exercising discretion and sensitivity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam and other project management platforms.
