Freshop is a wholly owned subsidiary of NCR providing e-Commerce solutions for retailers around the world. In this exciting role you will join Freshop’s DevOps / SRE team in development and operation of the next generation of e-Commerce solutions.

Responsibilities

1. Mentor and lead a team of software engineers within the scope of their support work, projects and performance.
2. Deliver projects and support work on-time while communicating it to the team, upper management and stakeholders.
3. Contribute and help lead architecture, design, development and processes efforts with your team.
4. Remove roadblocks reported by the team, which could require cross-team collaboration and or escalation to executive management.
5. Facilitate the right outcomes with data and conviction using diplomacy.
6. Maintain and stay abreast of current technologies and trends.
7. Measure and improve team productivity.
8. Maintain a manner of leadership and flexibility that diffuses pressure and promotes a team atmosphere.
9. Assist in the creation of processes and procedures with input from other development teams.
10. Support an open, learning, and progressive environment to allow the team's exploration of new solutions.
11. Ensure right mix of personalities or skills in the project team composition by hiring solid candidates.
12. Review and lead processes to document, train, and build new tools and solutions for Account Managers and Support to ‘self-service’ the Freshop platform.
13. Work closely with front-end developers, architects and DBAs to develop and extend our cutting edge online grocery platform.
14. Build and Optimize Data modules and data structure to achieve increased data processing speed, reliability and scalability.

Requirements

1. SQL database design, querying, and optimization.
2. Strong software development fundamentals, data structures, design patterns.
3. Knowledge of query languages, APIs, data pipelines, and how to work with them in practice.
4. Experience working in Unix based environments.
5. You can analyze a feature story and design a robust and complete solution for it. You have excellent debugging skills and use tools to aid you.
6. You write well-designed, reliable code that you or others will find easy to understand and modify six months from now.
7. You know databases and SQL very well. You’re comfortable with Linux commands and tools.
8. You're comfortable implementing integrations with third-party systems using HTTP and XML.
9. You know and use all of these: IDE, source control, debugger, continuous testing, build automation.
10. You communicate well whether you’re patiently helping a user, explaining a design to your colleagues, or writing a specification.

1. Ruby / Sinatra.
