Boston Children's Hospital's acclaimed Social Work Emergency Services team responds to social needs and issues in the Emergency Department and throughout inpatient services. This includes performing biopsychosocial assessments, as well as implementing trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions. We also provide management and advocacy for both patients and families.The Emergency Psych Service Clinical Social Worker is responsible for the following:
- Provides clinical social work services in accordance with established professional, programmatic, and departmental standards and treatment models.
- Serves as member of interdisciplinary team to plan and implement patient care, assist in program development and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts of the service.
- Provides consultation to interdisciplinary team members on psychosocial issues and specific patient needs.
- Conducts related staff education programs as assigned.
- Participates in departmental meetings, committees, work groups as needed or assigned.
- Utilizes supervision to enhance practice.
- May assist in supervision of Resource Specialist and/or Social Work Interns.
- Prepares accurate, thorough, and timely documentation, record keeping and reporting in conformance with hospital, and departmental standards.
- Develops and maintains professional knowledge and skills through participation in professional organizations, attendance at conferences, seminars and other continuing education programs.
To qualify, you must have:
- Master's degree in Social Work, LCSW or LICSW required. LICSW preferred.
- Experience in medical environment highly preferred.
- Flexibility and the ability to work in fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
Schedule: e/o Sunday overnight 9:30pm - 8am
