Quantum Scientists will be part of an elite team driving research and development of the industry’s most advanced quantum computing hardware and software.

  • Full-Time
  • *Higher starting salary possible depending on experience level
  • Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, or other related technical field.
  • At least a 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale
  • U.S. citizens (dual U.S. citizens also eligible)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Willing to move to the Washington, DC area
  • Able to complete security and medical evaluations

Quantum scientists in CIA’s Directorate of Science and Technology collaborate as program managers executing programs. You will use your expertise to shape the future of quantum technology and to better understand and define the efforts.

  • Ability to convey technical information to a diverse audience both through written reports and presentations.
  • Strong teamwork skills especially with working in interdisciplinary teams with professionals from other fields of physics and engineering and in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to work independently on complex tasks.
  • Proven record of research and accomplishment.
  • Experience in developing and executing to project budgets.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
