Job Title: PhlebotomistLocation: Olympia, Tumwater, Lacey areaCompensation: DOEEmployee Type: Part Time Hourly 2-5 days a week, 2-5 hour shifts, flexibleAbout the positionCOC Consulting is looking for a part-time phlebotomist in the Olympia, Lacey or Tumwater area from 5am-8am (flexible), 2-3 days a week. The Phlebotomist ensures the proper collection, processing, labeling, storage, and mailing of blood and urine samples to the laboratory for testing.Collects patient blood and/or urine specimens using established proceduresProperly prepares collected specimens for testing and analysis, ensuring specimen integrityVerifies urine and blood test requisitionsIdentifies the patient before any specimen is obtainedLabels and documents specimens to prepare for shipmentMaintains daily tallies of collections performedTracks and requests laboratory and office supplies needed to fulfill dutiesProvides site specific procedural training to new employeesMaintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; follow Universal Precautions and OSHA standards when handling specimens.Strictly adheres to HIPAA regulationsTravels to additional sites when neededPerforms additional job duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalentPhlebotomy certification from an accredited agencyComputer and technology proficientValid driver's license and car insuranceReliable transportationAbility to pass a background checkA proven ability to handle ambiguity in the absence of defined systems and processesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK CONDITIONSFrequently required to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 poundsFrequently required to speak and hearFrequently required to sit or stand for periods of time and bend, stretch, and stoopFrequently required to use all types of vision, such as close vision and computer visionFrequently required to use hand dexterity for use of standard office and clinical equipmentVarying schedule to include evenings, holidays, and/or extended hours as Company dictatesOccasional exposure to various temperaturesFrequent exposure to blood and bodily fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motionsBENEFITSCompetitive salaryPaid sick timeAutonomous workA company with a huge vision, a dynamic work environment, and a team of talented, ambitious and fun to work-with colleagues!ABOUT THE COMPANYCOC, Continuity of Care, is a leading provider of mobile phlebotomy and imaging services in the US.
