Job description
Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
- Perform patient assessments, including taking vitals and medical history
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software for dental prosthetics
- Provide assistance in pediatric dentistry procedures
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Knowledge of medical coding for insurance billing purposes
Experience:
- Previous experience as a dental assistant preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments
- Proficiency in using dental software and electronic medical records systems
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
